Meet the new ABBA cape

Abba

Our new ABBA Polar cape was worn by Agnetha and Anni-Frid on the tour of North America & Europe in 1979 and in Japan 1980. The cape was a collaboration with iconic designer Owe Sandström and scenographer Rune Söderqvist.

Owe and Rune wanted to create something that felt nordic and that reminded them about snowcapped and nordic mountain tops. The colors and pattern of the cape was according to Owe inspired by ”when the sun breaks through the mountain ice and creates the special shade of light blue, pink and purple”.

The cape set the tone of the whole collection where the costumes should reflect the scenography of the ABBA concerts at the time. That's why even Benny's tie got light blue and silver tones and Björn's overall had matching colors in the same shades.

This is a one size fits all cape.
Measurement: 170cm long and 130cm wide.
