Angetha Blue Cat Dress
The ABBA cats are an iconic part of ABBA’s costume history and we’ve re-designed the cat dress into a more wearable version.
The cat dress was created by ABBA’s costume designer, Owe Sandström, following the band's breakthrough at the 1974 Eurovision contest with "Waterloo.“ Owe was commissioned to design a look that was distinctively Swedish, yet not traditional folklore.
The fit has been updated with an a-line silhouette, butterfly sleeves, belt with adjustable thread loops.

Hand-drawn and specially made for the tv show Made in Sweden – For Export,
in 1975, Owe Sandström’s legendary hand-drawn cats are an indisputable part of the history of pop. Turn back time with an ABBA outfit from the cat collection.
“Create something Swedish, but without any tasseled garters and folklore”
was the brief when Owe Sandström got the mission to create costumes for the tv-show Made in Sweden For Export in 1975 – a showcase program where ABBA was presented as one of the hotshots. Just like the majority of ABBA’s stage outfits, the cat outfits were designed by the versatile designer, teacher and zoologist Owe Sandström
